A busy weekend – three days of pudding sales over the weekend – at Lewes Farmers Market and Ardingly – and our best-ever show days – thanks to all the family and friends for helping out – and Happy Birthday Mum (her party was in the middle of it all)…

Somehow we appeared in today’s Times newspaper – featured in an article about Christmas Puddings – we think they nicked it from Eat Sussex – the links are here – more online orders – and more learning curves with suppliers… onwartds with the puds!!!!
We got blown around, damp, and disheartened at Shoreham market this weekend – terrible weather always keeps shoppers away… Perhaps the credit crunch is more to do with the grim greyness that is hanging over the country. On with the puddings! Orders in for a couple of new retailers – plus a large order for a charity.. Roll on teatime…

Another blustery day i n Lewes, East Sussex – enough wind and rain to topple a few stands at the Farmers Market – but we survived and sold lots of puddings. We are featured in Eat Sussex magazine – an article by Peter Bayless – all about Clair cooks Christmas Puddings… Deliveries going out to various farm shops and delis this week… This weekend (8th November) off to Shoreham Farmers Market..

We had a useful day out today serving up tastings in a nearby deli – and started taking web orders – although the online facility is taking a little time to get into place – you can always call and place an order!!!
What a brilliant weekend! Lots of happy customers, toting our bags around the festival, and lots of new leads – other events, alternative suppliers and possible wholesale opportunities. Exhausted. Christmas came early to this bit of Sussex.
Lessons learnt:
- More small puddings
- More stock
- More sleep beforehand!

The first day at Glynde and we sold most of our stock! Plus loads of lovely messages from customers after tasting the Christmas Puddings. Long day – another one today… Found a local apple source for the next batch – the crop needs taking in off the trees – a job for the kids!

Glynde Food & Wine Festival – 2 days of puddings – the sun is shining – is anyone in the Christmas mood??? We’ll have to see. The festival is full of local food producers – and booze – packing out marquees and the gardens.. We are waiting for someone to come up to us and say ‘Are you qualified to be here?’… Ho-hum – on with the converting the unbelievers into lovers of puds!
