Welcome to Lampton School
“An Outstanding Ofsted report for Lampton School!”
Highly effective teaching, excellent academic progress and an inspirational headteacher are just a few of the elements that make Lampton School outstanding, according to Her Majesty’s Inspectorate.
Ofsted visited the school in May and were impressed by the “unrelenting drive and determination” to do the best for all the students regardless of their ethnicity, ability or talent.
Sue John, head of the school said:
“We are immensely pleased and proud that the school has been recognised as outstanding. Such a judgement is only possible because of the commitment and hard work of all those who work at the school; teachers, students, parents, governors, site staff, kitchen staff and many others. I would like to thank them all for their efforts in making this result possible.”
Congratulating the school on its success, Cllr Paul Lynch, lead member for education and children at the council, said:
“I would like to congratulate everyone involved at this outstanding school for their efforts in providing the children with such a high standard of education and care."

Lampton School is a mixed, multi-cultural, 11 to 18, comprehensive
secondary school with 1,350 pupils on roll. We border the A4 in central
Hounslow, west London. Our ethnic mix reflects the local suburban
community. The majority of our pupils come from four world religions:
Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. We take great pride in
our reputation for mutual respect and tolerance for all. Our last
OFSTED report and many visitors comment on the positive relationships
throughout the school.
'Lampton is a very
good school that is constantly striving to improve.' Ofsted
Lampton School became a designated “Humanities” Specialist
school at the start of September 2004. Our specialist subjects are
English & Media, History and Religious Studies. Geography will
also be involved in parts of this programme.
Our curriculum and learning model celebrates diversity and prepares
students to become active, global citizens through increased oracy
and literacy, critical questioning, a high level of analysis and the
provision of extensive enrichment activities.
Our extensive range of extra-curricular activities was enhanced June
2005 with the opening of our new Sports Centre. This has a four-badminton
court Sports Hall and a 150 sq metre Fitness Gymnasium plus associated
changing rooms and storage. This facility has been part funded by
the New Opportunities Fund and provides facilities for the local community
in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays.
