 Monas Hieroglyphica: The Inner Journey
In an impressive conclusion to Dylan Warren-Davis's 2-part study of John Dee's Mercurial symbol, the Monas Hieroglyphica, Dylan now turns his attention to the symbolic detail captured in the end motif, explaining how this fits together with the frontispiece to reflect the student's journey through inner tuition (intution), culminating in enlightenment. This ranks among my favourite articles of the year and I strongly recommend it to students of astrology, alchemy and the symbolism of art.
