Education
The London Borough of Barnet tops the annual DFES league table of results and The Susi Earnshaw Theatre School is right up there with the best of the best.
In 2008 our best graduate gained 13 GCSEs (seven A*, five A, and one B) plus an A level equivalent in Drama. 100% of pupils gained 5 GCSEs at A*-C.
What makes our results so special is that we do not admit pupils on academic ability yet still achieve successful results.
We are able to do this because our pupils learn to focus in the strict disciplines of performing arts and this way of working transfers to the academic lessons. Also, our classes are kept small, ensuring that each pupil gets all the individual attention they need to achieve to the best of their ability - academically and vocationally.
Training
At SETS, pupils train in all aspects of performing arts from ballet, jazz, tap, voice and acting to musicianship, theatre lighting, sound recording, stage management and arts administration. Leisure is one of our fastest growing industries and there are many career paths to choose.
Last year 100% of our graduates went onto further education in the colleges of their first choice - several on scholarship places. Whatever paths our graduates choose to walk, they do so with confidence and self belief plus the knowledge that we will always be here to guide and advise them.
