Welcome to St Margaret's
An Independent School for Girls between the ages of 4 and 16
There are 170 girls and 25 teachers in the St Margaret’s family. Like most schools, we want our girls to be happy, well-rounded and confident, and for them to do their very best academically. At St Margaret's, we reach these goals by engaging with each girl on a very personal level, which is something you can do when you have small classes, low teacher turnover and a culture of involvement.
We are delighted to announce that we are Number 1 in the Sunday Times League Tables for schools without a sixth form, 2023 .
Meet the students
Where every girl stands out
Here it is not only the tallest, most athletic girls who represent the school at netball, or the most extrovert who get the speaking roles in plays. Everyone is valued, and we encourage and celebrate excellence and enthusiasm in equally high measure. Every girl is involved in the life and experiences that the school has to offer.
Happy, rounded and confident
Like most schools we want our girls to do their very best academically. We work towards reaching these goals by engaging with each girl on a personal level, something you can do when you have small classes, low teacher turnover, and a culture of involvement. Every girl stands out at St Margaret's School.
Our history
Taught by experts
We recruit and retain the very best teachers in order to ensure that the teaching and learning throughout the school are exceptional. Staff turnover is very low. We also focus closely on the staff's understanding of the importance of pastoral care in fostering a harmonious community.
Practical & prepared
Respect for others lies at the heart of the school community, within which the potential and talent of each individual can be recognised, nurtured and realised. At St Margaret's education is seen as a partnership between pupils, parents and teachers.
