The Asbestos and Insulation Company, established in 1988, is a professional organisation, specialising in Asbestos Consultancy, Surveying and Removal on a national scale for both the commercial and domestic sectors.

Asbestos is believed to be in over 3,000 different products and was used extensively as a building material in Great Britain from the 1950s through to the mid 1980s, with a total ban in 1999. Although some of this material has been removed over the years, it is estimated that over half a million non-domestic premises currently have some form of asbestos in them.

Contrary to popular belief, asbestos containing materials (ACM's) do not always need to be removed. ACM's that are in good condition and are not likely to be damaged or disturbed are sometimes best left in place and managed. Their condition is easily established by carrying out a risk assessment that can be included within an Asbestos Register. Current regulations require commercial buildings built before 24th November 1999 to have an asbestos management plan for all presumed ACM's.

All our surveyors possess the required P402 certification to ensure compliance with MDHS100 for Asbestos Surveys, which assist in creating an Asbestos register and management plan. We were awarded the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) accreditation upon its inception, having been a member since 1988 and are fully licensed by the HSE for Asbestos consultancy, removal and abatement work.
