Cleary Gottlieb’s London office was established in 1971 and began practicing English law in 1997. We have approximately 100 lawyers; the majority are either U.S.- or English-qualified.

Reflecting the firm’s overall commitment to creating a seamlessly interwoven legal practice, Cleary’s London office is not departmentalized by specialty. Core capabilities in London include international finance and corporate work, with additional experience in tax (both U.S. and UK), antitrust, financial regulation, litigation and arbitration, and intellectual property.

Our lawyers also have had international experience, including rotations in one or more of our offices around the world; they are fluent in managing international transactions and dispute resolutions and collaborate easily with global colleagues. They all handle a wide variety of assignments and work cooperatively to share abilities across practices and jurisdictions.
