RICHARD SYMONDS - PILOT
Richard has had aviation in his blood since birth. His father was a pilot and aerial photographer and Richard was flying radio-controlled planes at the age of 10. At 15 he took his first aerial photographs by fixing point-and-shoots cameras to the wing of his RC plane.
At 19 he joined Target Technology Ltd as a drone pilot and operator. His first contract involved flying targeting drones for the Egyptian Air Force in SAM 6 anti-aircraft missile tests. He also trained the Egyptian Navy to fly target drones at sea, launching them from Navy craft. Other jobs included drone target piloting during live test firings of Sea Wolf missiles whilst at sea on board HMS Norfolk and Rapier missiles on the Welsh ranges. Richard spent two years in the US with GEC and LAV-AD flying target drones in tests of a top secret laser-guided sighting system for an air defense program. He has also piloted test drones in trials against gatling guns, Hydra missiles, Stinger missile and 25mm HE cannons.
He is a qualified private pilot. experienced microlight pilot and has clocked up over 1,000 hours as P1 on many different aircraft.
He is an internationally renowned wildlife artist whose clients include Chris Evans, Desmond Tutu and Eric Clapton.
JAMES INCLEDON - DoP & PILOT
Born in Devon, James graduated with first class honors degree from Plymouth University in film studies. From there, he went straight into developing and directing his own documentary series idea about the RNLI for the BBC. Since then he has become one of the most established and sought-after directors in the UK. He created the idea for Channel 4’s The Supervet and directed the first two series of the hugely popular show. He is adept at developing outside-the-box ideas and in his last series of the prime-time BBC1 show Reported Missing, he used a 1000 watt light attached to a drone to simulate police helicopter searchlights across the Durham landscape.

He won a Grierson Award in 2017 for his role as Series Director for the first episode of the Channel 4 series 999: What’s Your Emergency.
He is an experienced natural history and underwater cameraman.
LAWRIE BRAILEY - PILOT
Award-winning photographer Lawrie Brailey grew up in Lancashire where his father was a fighter jet engineer. Lawrie trained as a marine biologist and specialises in wildlife photography.
His work has won several awards and has been included in the BBC Countryfile Calendar. He has been a British Wildlife Photography Awards finalist and has photographed a wide range of domestic and exotic wildlife including big cats and brown bears in the wild in Finland.
Lawrie is a SCUBA, skiing and climbing instructor with significant technical diving and underwater photography experience. He is a fully qualified drone Pilot.
SIMON COWELL - MANAGING DIRECTOR
Simon created, produced and presented the television series Wildlife SOS for Channel Five and Discovery Animal Planet. The series became the longest-running wildlife observational documentary on British television and was produced by Wild Productions, a company established by Simon. Simon has reported on the plight of animals internationally and is experienced in investigative and clandestine documentary production. In 2013 Simon developed TheWildlifeAidTV channel on YouTube which was the world’s first internet-based wildlife documentary series.
He is founder and CEO of The Wildlife Aid Foundation and is one of the UK’s leading voices in wildlife conservation and environmentalism. Prior to his career as a film maker and charity founder he was a successful commodities broker in the City of London. He is a qualified fixed wing pilot. In 2005 Simon was awarded the MBE for services to wildlife.

The creative geniuses behind Wild Productions are James Incledon and Richard Symonds.
James is an award-winning documentary series director and cinematographer, with years of experience commissioning aerial photography. His work is broadcast on the BBC and Channel 4 and his series includes Reported Missing, 999: What’s Your Emergency, The Catch and Supervet. James is a pioneer of the fixed rig style of documentary making and his work has made him one of the most in-demand film makers in the UK today. He is adept at developing outside-the-box ideas and in his last series of the prime-time BBC1 show Reported Missing, he used a 1000 watt light attached to a drone to simulate police helicopter searchlights across the Durham landscape.
Richard is a drone Top Gun. He has 37-years flying experience and is an ex-military drone pilot whose skills have been called upon in high level missile testing. He is an internationally renowned wildlife artist whose clients include Chris Evans, Desmond Tutu and Eric Clapton.
The team are qualified to ‘ICARUS PRO’ level, which is the highest level of drone training. They are also approved night rated pilots enabling them to film during and after sunset.
