Background
In the UK, a parking ticket (or Penalty Charge Notice – PCN) is issued every 5 seconds reaping local councils, boroughs and parking contractors more than £1billion a year in revenue. Because of the enormous profits available, the number of PCNs issued increase dramatically each year.
Commercial vehicles, especially delivery/service vans and lorries, are prime targets although they are, more often than not, legitimately delivering goods or providing services at the time of receiving a PCN. There is not enough space in our towns and cities, particularly inside the M25, for all the necessary deliveries to be made without being at risk of getting a parking ticket.
