Waltham Forest have History
The club badge was designed and hand drawn by ex-Wanstead HC player Paul Lidbury.
Elements of the badge explained
Red Rose of The Hockey Association. Blue Shield of the Essex County Association. White hart or stag and shield/oak trees from the coat of arms of the Borough of Waltham Forest, wearing the red and gold colours of West Essex HC, which amalgamated with Wanstead HC in 1974/75.
Heron, wearing blue and white, the emblem and colours of Wanstead HC, and also part of the coat of arms of the Borough of Wanstead and Woodford. Wanstead HC relocated to become Waltham Forest HC in 1989.
The badge became computer generated with the grass pitch changing to Astroturf and wooden hockey sticks changing to composite.
In the mid-2000s the Essex County shield turned from blue to red.
