Introduction

Relationships are an essential part of our lives, from family and friends to partners and spouses. We have a natural tendency to develop intimate and intense relationships with a few select individuals, which can bring joy and happiness. Relationship Therapy offers a safe and confidential environment where individuals and couples can explore their relationship concerns with an experienced, professional therapist. By helping you to identify the roots of your difficulties, Relationship-Therapy brings clarity and facilitates positive change.

Services

Couples and individuals of all sexual orientations can benefit from Relationship-Therapy

Couple work

Seeking therapy as a couple offers the opportunity to air hurt and angry feelings in a safe and controlled setting. Relationships can become "gridlocked", repeating destructive patterns. The insights offered in relationship therapy can free couples from a negative dynamic and establish new, positive modes of relating.

Individual work

Many people choose to seek relationship therapy without a partner. Individual relationship therapy is often sought by those experiencing difficulties in coping with a break up, or who are undecided whether to continue in a relationship. It can also be useful for those who want to explore the absence of lasting intimate relationships. Relationship therapy can help you to discover how you relate to others and why you are drawn to particular people.

Relationship Therapy aims to create more conscious and rational ways of dealing with suppressed emotions, by exposing and exploring them. It reduces the energy and concentration dedicated to keep these emotions hidden or ignored, and enhances the capacity to cope with and to enjoy life.

Having originally graduated in education and child psychology, I first became interested in relationship psychotherapy through work with emotionally vulnerable children and their parents.

I initially trained in Psychodynamic Couple Psychotherapy at London Marriage Guidance.

I then continued my Psychotherapy studies at Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships (formerly Tavistock Institute of Marital Psychology), where I gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Marital and Couple Therapy.

I am committed to Continuous Professional Development and I attend conferences, research presentations and training days regularly, to keep up to date with new developments in the field.

I am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their code of ethics. I am committed to working for the client's best interest: practicing confidentiality, having a transparent working contract and promoting the clients' right to make their own decisions.
